Board of Supervisors Meeting Recap for March 25, 2025

The Kern County Board of Supervisors met today as scheduled for Tuesday’s March 25, 2025, Board Meeting. Supervisor Phillip Peters (District 1), Supervisor Chris Parlier (District 2), Supervisor Jeff Flores (District 3), and Chairwoman Leticia Perez (District 5) were in attendance.  Supervisor David Couch (District 4) was absent.  For information on how to address the Board on a specific agenda item or provide general public comment, please click here.   

Meeting Highlights:

Item No. 1 AM session: The Board adopted a resolution honoring Cindy Uetz, Department of Human Services, upon her retirement with 38 years of dedicated service to the County of   Kern.

Item No. 2 AM session: The Board adopted a resolution honoring Sheriff’s Commander Mark Warren upon his retirement with 26 years of dedicated service to the County of Kern.

Item No.3 AM session: The Board adopted a resolution honoring Assistant District Attorney Andrea Kohler upon her retirement with 35 years of dedicated service to the County of   Kern.   You can watch the presentation here.

Item No. 4 AM session: The Board voted to proclaim April 7 - 11, 2025 as Adult Education Week in Kern County.  You can watch the presentation here.

Item No. 12 AM session: The Board approved the certification of results of the Special Primary Election for the 32nd Assembly District held February 25, 2025.

Item No. 30 AM session: The Board approved a resolution authorizing temporary closure of the Delano Branch Library Facility from Wednesday, April 16, 2025 through Tuesday, January   20, 2026 for life-safety and critical maintenance improvements.

Item No.31 AM session: The Board approved and adopted a resolution authorizing temporary closure of the Wasco Branch Library Facility from Monday, April 21, 2025 through Sunday, November 2, 2025 for life-safety and critical maintenance improvements.

Item No. 23 PM session: The Board approved proposed contributions to Kern County Veterans’ Service Department in the amount of $1,000 to support veteran identification California State University Bakersfield Foundation in the amount of $1,000 to support veterans’ attendance of CSUB Spring BBQ; and Kern Community Foundation in   the amount of $200 to support the Women’s and Girls’ Fund.

Item No. 24 PM session: The Board approved the proposed contributions to North High School Athletic Booster Club in the amount of $750 to support the Track and Field Team, and Southern Sierra Council Boy Scouts of America in the amount of $750 to support programs and services.

The next Regular Board Meetings are scheduled for April 8, 2025, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
